1st Avenue to Freedom Breaking Free from your addictions
1st Avenue to Freedom is a sober drug free comfortable living environment for adult men who desire structure and support to build a strong foundation in their recovery.
We are men who have suffered from addiction and/or alcoholism and have found a solution to recover from a hopeless state of mind and body. We want to help you find what we have found, freedom from the bondage of addiction and/or alcoholism.
Our 2 homes are located 1 block from the Halifax River and 5 blocks from the Atlantic Ocean in Daytona Beach Florida.
We always have a bed at one of our 2 different locations!
If your having difficulties getting the help you need for your loved one I also do individual and family interventions.

General Information
Our policies and procedures were designed from the Oxford Houses which were established to help the individual suffering from addiction/alcoholism.
Each policy specifically addresses recovery principles that teach one how to live in society free from all mind altering substances, and to encourage new behaviors while building an unshakable foundation for success.
Our House Members Agree To...

Remain completely clean from all narcotics and alcohol which will be monitored with random urinalysis'

Attend daily 12 step meetings & obtain a sponsor in the chosen program

Attend our mandatory weekly house meeting on Mondays from 6:30-7:30 pm and Monday night Big Book Study from 8:00 pm-9:00 pm.

Attend 4 weeks 1 hour of private counseling

Obtain and maintain employment

If collecting disability or retirement pension, must volunteer 20 hours a week

Daily chores
-
Evening curfew
-
Pay weekly dues on time
An Advantage to choosing 1st Avenue to Freedom over other recovery houses in Volusia County/ Daytona Beach is that Christian Cannon LMHC (licensed mental health counselor) offers special services that most recovery houses do not offer. These services include but are not limited to:

Individual and/or family interventions to help the suffering person get the help he or she needs (price depends on individual and family needs)

Private Individual counseling for substance abuse and/or mental health issues (60-120 an hour) Free for the first 2 weeks

Relapse prevention skills, stress management skills anger management and life coping skills.

Special Service Fees are based on a sliding scale.
How to Become a House Member
If you are serious about changing your life and are willing to be completely free from all narcotics and alcohol then this is what you should do next.

Call Christian Cannon LMHC 386-295-5872 or Jennifer 407-234-1046 to complete a phone screening.

If you desire please come and visit the 2 different locations (optional and by appointment only)

If criteria is met (phone screening) submit negative Urinalysis and Breathalyzer.

Pay intake fees $310.00 which covers the first and last week of a 6 month commitment and Urinalysis fee

Meet house manager for orientation and to sign all consent forms and intake paperwork.

Move into your room and go to a 12 step meeting with another house member.
